In-Home Services (IHS)
The In-Home Services (IHS) program is Medicaid-funded and designed to support individuals with more dependent care needs and disabilities.
Services may include:
- Personal Care: Assistance with activities of daily living
- Homemaker Services: Household support & housekeeping activities
- Chore Services: Short-term tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary home
- Advanced Personal Care: Assistance involving devices or procedures related to altered body functions
- Authorized Nurse Visits: Preventative or maintenance nursing services provided by an RN or LPN under RN supervision
- Respite Care: Temporary relief services for caregivers of dependent adults
Consumer Directed Services (CDS)
The Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program is available for Missouri Medicaid-eligible individuals with physical disabilities. This Medicaid-funded program allows clients to choose and hire their own personal care attendant to assist with daily living activities at no cost to the client.
Clients may select a trusted friend or family member (excluding spouses) as their caregiver, provided the caregiver is at least 18 years old, passes a background check, and has relevant caregiving experience.
CDS services may include, but are not limited to:
- Bathing assistance
- Grooming assistance
- Dressing support
- Toileting assistance
- Colostomy care
- Meal preparation
- Housekeeping
- Laundry assistance
- Transportation services
Personal Care Services (CNA)
3 Hours a Day Minimum
Personal Care Services provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living while promoting comfort, dignity, and independence. Services may include:
- Grooming & personal hygiene
- Mobility & transfer assistance
- Eating & feeding assistance
- Dressing assistance
- Bathing support
- Toileting assistance
- Monitoring vital signs
